The first update...
As you may have heard, our dad was in a horrible automobile accident on Thursday morning, January 15,2009, around 1:00 am on I-15. He was rear-ended by a SUV & his car trunk was smashed up into the back of his seat. It took the paramedics an hour to get him out and into the helicopter. We have created this blog in an attempt to keep everyone informed of his status and progress as time goes by. We realize that there will be many who wish to express their love and concern and also want to hear how things are going. We all are very busy in dealing with this life changing event, but want you all to know how much we appreciate your genuine concern for our family. It will be difficult to answer phone calls and questions, so we kindly ask you to refer to this blog as we will do our best to keep it current. We, as well as our dad, would greatly appreciate any words of encouragement or expressions of love. Please feel free to comment on this blog, as this will serve as a journal for the road we are about to travel down. Thank you again on behalf of our family, especially our dad!

Dear family and friends of Kirby.
ReplyDeleteWe were deeply saddened to hear of this tragic accident. I have tried to post a note earlier, but failed. That is not uncommon where I am involved with a computer. You all and Kirby have been in our prayers. My children all send there love and concern for you. Georgia and I are serving as missionaries and as the Area Medical Adviser for the NE region of the US and Canada. We wait anxiously each day for your report. Please let Kirby and Aunt Lee know how sorry we are and pray that our heavenly father will sustain and support all of you and particularly Kirby.
Love Bruce & Georgia McIff
Dearest Kirby, Don't know who knew to text me re this blog site but I'm so grateful to know of your circumstances that I might more fully keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteStill chuckle every time I think about running into you at the movie theater, after not seeing you for several years, and being talked into Adam Sandler's movie where you and I were the only ones laughing hysterically and sweet Christian kindly indulged us old fogies and generously shared his food.
You are such a sweetie, Kirby, who I've always adored, respected and appreciated you and your wonderful sense of humor.
Hope it doesn't hurt to laugh!
With much love and BEST wishes get well soon and back on your feet so we can do some more west coast swing!! Last dance I went to I didn't do a single west coast---my abilities have dwindled considerably!!
Love the pics and hope your very sweet and loving family (so comforting to know you have that kind of support) keeps the pics and info updated and coming.
I love you dearest friend, Kirby.
