A little indulgence...

My Dad has always remembered his many grandchildren's birthday's! He buys matching gifts...even for the adults! Before handing the present over, however, you have to listen to a typically fabricated story. You better look like your listening and interested too! These pictures are a perfect example of Dad's unique gift giving! My kids love to hear your stories, Dad. They can't wait to hear more! I never knew I would yearn to hear that boisterous laugh! I sure wish I would have accepted that last dance you offered me. Love you Daddy! XOXO

  1. Isn't it amazing how quickly things happen. One minute they're with us and we love them but don't appreciate how much until something like this happens. I am keeping him and you in my prayers, twice a day so that has to count for something:) I know you have had a lot of offers but if there is anything I can do please let me know. I haven't seen Kirby for years but I can still hear his laugh in my head- he has an awesome support system in your family. I'm sorry you have to go through this.
    Love ya!

  2. I am so glad I let Kirby FORCE me to go out & dance the Salsa with him as he taught me how at the singles dances. I would sit & watch him dance & thought he was a great dancer. He would always give me a hug when he saw me at them & would ask how are Jack & Bettie doing & tell me how Aunt Lenora was doing. He will be greatly missed at those dances.

How is Paula doing after her surgery?

  3. Heidi, I love those picture with Dad and "the boys" - cousins, Dresden & Blake --practically like twin brothers. Dad has always tried to be fair with all of his children & grandchildren. From his yearly cute "name labeled" bags full of fun surprises to his traditional gifts that he's known for....SOCKS...I have the most awesome soft, furry, unique socks filling mine and my kids drawers. We love your socks,Dad. Our feet will always be cozy warm! :) We love your huge santa bags you give us each year with the ultimate bows and scrapbook-like name tags that we know you spent hours on. You're awesome! Next year I'm going to help you with those.:) Love you Daddy! Sonja xoxoxoxoxo

  4. Heidi, you have a wonderful way with words. Your blogs are so poignant and touching. You are able to capture the feelings and the truth at the same time which is really unique. It is a gift that keep us all in touch with the important things that are happening. Thank You Carla
