Surgery Today...Finally!!!

Kirby went into surgery @ 8:30 am this morning. The doctors said that the surgery will take about 6 hours. They will be fusing several vertabrae together and placing a metal rod in his spine. They will also take bone marrow from his hip and use that to fuse the vertabrae together. We will keep you updated on his progress and his post-op condition. Thank you for your calls, your prayers and your love. Please don't send flowers or balloons at this time. They don't allow them in the ICU. We will be setting up a fund for Kirby soon, so stay posted.

Because he will be recovering from his surgery this weekend we ask that visits wait a few days so that he can rest. They only allow 3 people in his room at a time and with 7 children...it's tight! If you'd like to send him a message, please comment on the blog and we will read all messages to him when he wakes up again. Cards are also appreciated!

  1. Hey, I just heard the news from Saunie when she was looking at her facebook account today. I am so sorry to hear about the terrible accident of your dad and want you to know that I am praying for all of you and especially your dad. I will be checking this blog regularly to see how he is doing.

  3. We're standing by in case there's anything we can do besides pray for the lot of you, including make a mad dash out there to watch kids or cook meals or...whatever! Our love to your family, and most especially our prayers.
